When I started my career as an illustrator out of Parsons years ago the connection of drawing and painting to the anatomy and composition of dynamic movement in sports that I participated in played a great part in my career as an artist.Early on my sport illustrations were used by magazines ,including football and soccer magazine covers and children's book called "Sports Pages". Sport magazine had an article about my approach to the subject of sport art called art beyond Neiman.Color fields and expansive clean color were used to get the feeling and energy of the sport and movement. And yes it is true I was picked over all of the artists submitted one of them was Peter Max whom they turned down over my work.As a  young hot NY illustrator at 24 I was well trained and worked very hard with my sports style with vibrant color drawing that depicted the essence of a figure in motion.
