The dream continues

As a young artist in New York I had the dream of someday showing the scope of my artwork in the Guggenheim Museum, especially the spiritually inspired large oils. I believe in the transformational process as I believe it in myself and to share that from the artist to the viewer. My work as an artist comes from a place of clarity, simplicity, study, and meditation.

Through painting, I aspire to relate to the viewer and share a positive influence and connection.  My background as an artist trained at Parsons School of Design in New York, working within the American contemporary impressionist style. I developed a growing connection to nature and  profoundly inspired by beauty. This love and appreciation of nature, coupled with deeply spiritual art, form the foundation of a unique style and sublime message. A strong sense of color and a free-flowing painterly method blend with a masterful use of layering techniques, to provide the depth and dimension inherent to all of my paintings.

In my creative process, I maximize the amount of information and inspiration in the simplest way. Painting becomes an answer to a prayer, or a solution for a creative problem.  With the guidance of meditation, the painting documents my full artistic and spiritual process and leaves grace behind for the viewer to imbibe freely.

I propose a series of 4 foot by 8 foot and 4 foot by 12 foot oil paintings. The oils are experienced in human scale in them imbedded  life inspired qualities in a harmonic dialogue of color to the viewer. “Satsang” means company of Truth. The carefully painted works are sensitive to convey a visual spiritual discourse through each individual painting and as a group viewed  in a large room. At best this is a spiritual conversation through the visual language of.painting and color that is embedded with divine aspiration. Because of their scale they interact directly with the person standing in front of them and the goal is to leave the viewer restored in their humanity and connectedness. It will convey qualities of fellowship, mercy, compassion, joy, gratitude and the appreciation for life. Our humanity, divinity and unity for life is a shared vision by enlightened saints and mystics throughout time is a sincere expression from the artist as it resonates its truth and meaning from within and without. When working on an illustration deadline I often prayed a positive message would come through it so much so that I learned the importance of listening for the best solution. I practiced the art of meditation to help and subsequently studied under mystic poet param sant Darshan singh in India. I had the good fortune of illustrating the cover of his book “Wonders of Inner Space”. I feel blessed to share in his vision and inspiration. Below examples are a few inspired quotes and teachings by mystic poet saint sant Darshan. They will be used for inspiration and contemplation for the paintings I propose.

“Heart to heart soul to soul that is the true meaning coming and going is not even an encounter”

“I seek a world of enmity and peace and in which each is valued for their uniqueness and merit. Life itself is restless for this dream of peace to be realized”

“When the flowers of the church temple and mosque gather together Spring will blossom in your garden oh Lord”

The recently completed comprehensive Exhibition at the Noyes Claridge art gallery in Atlantic city. The collection consists of over a hundred paintings of my career in painting (including work  painted from the top of the world trade towers). It fills 20,000 square feet of beautiful gallery space. This show still continues and required much effort to prepare in an area that arts are not well supported. Adversity and the challenges of the time may  have interrupted my efforts, yet the dream to do this work continues. I cannot think of a better time to pursue this painting goal and share its message of hope than now. I cannot think of a better reason for painting.

Sincerely submitted,

Steve Kuzma
