I am a man who has dedicated his life to achieving excellence as an artist. I was born in Philadelphia and attended Central High School's Alternative Arts Program in 1974. I took my career path as an artist seriously by furthering my education by completing my BFA in Illustration at the Parsons School of Design in New York and the New School in 1982. My post-graduate education continued after receiving the Brunschwig & Fils Scholarship, also in 1982. This allowed me to study abroad at Parsons and at The American College both in Paris, France and Sienna, Italy.

With a spirit of courage, perseverance and determination I developed a lifelike painting technique that conveys dynamic motion.  The essence, of movement and composition are distilled in bright color fields in a contemporary, impressionistic American style.

My work continued in the field of Illustration. Many of my pieces were published in books, magazines and large projects. My sports illustration work began in New York in the 1980’s. I produced work for the following clients and campaigns: 1985 The New York Times (New York Marathon), Sport Monday, 1986  TIME, 1985 Harper Collins (Illustrations for the children’s book “Sports Pages” featured on Reading Rainbow), 1986 Sarajevo Olympics, (PR campaign illustrator) 1986 World Cup Soccer for Spanish International Television(entire design“Look” for the event program consisting of 13 soccer paintings and cover poster), Art Direction magazine, 1986 Backpacker, 1985 Boating and 2002 New Hampshire magazine spreads. My paintings were shown on ABC coverage of the 1986 Olympics  in the Olympic Village art show in Sarajevo and on tennis, on CBS with commissioned work for an NFL program. Many of these works were painted with acrylic on paper, with colorful glowing backgrounds and delineated musculature showing the essence of movement in unique composition.

All of my images convey a positive message. In florals, there is joy. In landscapes and seascapes, there is a feeling of openness or expansion of consciousness.  In sports related and mystical paintings, there is the dignity and nobility of the human spirit.

The projects required a comprehensive knowledge of painting and design on many levels. This is reflected in my work for the World Cup soccer 1986 Mexico campaign for Spanish International television. As a young illustrator, I was chosen by Spanish Television over a  of selection of mature artists including Peter Max to take on the entire look , design, which included 13 paintings, which flow through a large program book. These illustrations with their colorfully painted luminous layers gave life to the printed page. This was a highly prolific time in my career and growth as an artist.
